2 week checkups
Amy and I both had our 2 week check ups today. Everything is going good. Amy is growing quite fast! She weighed 9 lbs 3.5 oz (77%tile) and was 21 inches long (74%tile). She is still a little yellow, but doing great. We will be referred to a hemmotologist when she is 6 months old to do some additional bloodtest to make sure she doesn't have anytype of blood disorder, since her jaundice level went so high and took so long to come down. They would do it sooner, but it requires quite a bit of bloodwork and they don't want to take that much from her, since she is so young.

Newest Picture
Finally, one with both eyes open! If you look carefully you can see her yellow racoon eyes from the goggles. She is almost back to her birth weight, last night at midnight she was 8 lbs, 5 oz. She is still quite a chunk. Before putting her under the lights, the 6 month shirts were too tight on her that the hospital had.

Amy Elizabeth Haseltine
Amy Elizabeth Haseltine arrived Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 3:57 pm. She weighed 8 pounds 8 ounces and was 18 3/4 inches long. We were all scheduled to come home Saturday morning. Unfortunately, she had a high billirubin count and has jaundice. I was discharged from the hospital on Saturday morning and am now a boarder at the hospital. Here is how it all went down...Amy was yellow and they did a blood test, the number came back high, so they told us she would need to be put under the lights. By the time they got all of the equipment in the room and hooked it up it was already after noon. Once we got her under it was time to feed her. Then we put her back under the lights. Then the pediatrcian wanted an IV put in, so it was another hour before she got back under the lights. Then it was time to feed her again. So she really didn't have too much time under the lights and at the next test, the number had risen again. So this time the doctor wanted her to be put in NICU so that she could be monitored better and stay under the lights more. So early in the evening she was moved. I go every 3 hours to feed her for only 30 minutes. Then back to the room to pump, so that could be given to her under the lights after I fed her. This morning at the 9:00 feeding they weighed her before and after and determined she was getting enough from me and that I didn't need to pump anymore! Yahoo! During the night her number had dropped at midnight, but rose again by 6 am. They should do another test again at noon, we are praying for a lower number and for that to happen she has to poop a lot!!! For us to be able to go home she will need to get her numbers down low, then keep them down while not under the lights. So it will be very late today or tomorrow before we get to go home.
One really cool thing about this hospital is that I have an internet connection on the TV, so I can check my email and surf the web all from the bed, it just doesn't have a mouse, which has taken a little time to figure out how to move around on the pages just using the arrows and tab keys. I promise to post pictures as soon as I can. I did get an email from the hospital photo company saying her picture is ready to be viewed, but I am unable to navigate around their page using the arrows, so you can try to access at www.our365.com password: has town McKinney

July 10 will be the day!
Unless #2 makes a very quick or a VERY LONG (I pray not) entrance into the world, it looks like she will be born on Thursday, July 10. Aunt Na-Na made it to the house tonight around 7, and then we headed to the McKinney Marshals baseball game. We are now getting things organized and in the car for our early morning trip to the hospital. Hopefully, I'll be able to go right to sleep tonight. Getting up early shouldn't be a problem, since every morning this week I've been up around 4:30.

Week 39 Update
I had my last exam today. I have made it to 4cm. This is further along than I was with Mary. I was still between 3-4cm after 40 weeks. So it looks like we'll be heading in Thursday morning at 5:30am at Allen Presby, unless my water breaks or contractions start, but I'm thinking that's not going to happen. With Mary we went in at 6:00am for the induction and she was born at 3:24pm. I'm hoping this one will come just a bit sooner...I was STARVING by the time she was born. We will send out an email as soon as we can to announce the news and details and then pictures will most likely not get posted until I get home, unless William or Aunt Na-Na can figure it out. :)

Almost 39 weeks
We're ready...but she's not!!! I've had lots of contractions today, but nothing consistent.
4th of July
We took it easy most of the day. Early in the evening the entire family, including Gus (which everyone loved him, and we were constantly getting stopped by people asking if they could pet him), went McKinney's 1st annual "Red, White, and Boom" Celebration. They had live music and fireworks once the sun set. If we would have gotten there a little earlier we could have enjoyed all of the "fair foods" they had and bounce houses. Mary loved watching the fireworks.
