Greenley Lake House Weekend

Another weekend of AMAZING TIMES! We always have so much fun at the lake house for Steve's Birthday Bash. It's interesting how the weekend has changed over the last few years...crazy college parties until early morning hours... boyfriend/girlfriend... engaged... married... dogs... kids and everyone in bed before midnight! Thanks to the Greenley family for allowing us to visit their lake home once again!

Kathryn's 1st Birthday Party

On Saturday afternoon we went to Kathryn's 1st Birthday Party. Mary was so excited to be going to another party.

Granny's quick visit

Granny came up on Tuesday afternoon. She left Thursday morning and Mary went with her. On Friday Pa-Pa was in charge of Mary. They went to the Fireman's Festival that night. She had a lot of fun jumping in the elephant bounce house and eating snow cones. Pa-Pa even bought her the 1st item in the auction, a fireman teddy bear. We went to the farm Friday night after work.

We went to the McKinney Marshals last regular season game on Thursday. We went to the zoo on Friday. On Monday night Grandma Betty treated us to dinner at Rockfish. Mary is finally getting the hang of restaurant manners.

Another week on the Farm

Granny came on Thursday, July 20 night to McKinney. We packed up the truck and headed to Bellville for a week and half. We had a ton of fun on our visit. On Saturday, we went to the Industry Firemans BBQ and Polka dance. Mary had a lot fun dancing, playing in the dirt, watching a goat, eating snow cones (Granny and Pa-Pa bought her 3!!), playing ring toss on the coke bottles (although she really hasn't grasped the concept of the game), and making new friends. I got to see some of my friends as well, Crystal and Jaime. On Sunday, we went to church. For dinner that night Uncle Fred, Cousin Greg, and Grandma all came over to the house. Mary really enjoyed the ice cream and cake. We also had some fresh peaches and strawberries that we picked up in Fairfield.

Fun in the Barn

Mary spent almost an hour down in the barn. She finally climbed up on the Terra Gator. Inside Pa-Pa showed her all of the buttons, levers, knobs, switches, and lights. He started it up, but didn't want to press his luck by putting it in gear.
On your mark, get set, GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mary finally got excited enough to take a ride in the tractor with Pa-Pa. When you ask her "Do you want to ride with Pa-Pa in the tractor?" Her usual immediate answer would always be "NO!" But she finally said "Okay!" It took a couple of tries, but she finally did it. And, of course, I wouldn't have my camera with me! Hopefully next time we go I'll be able to get a picture of it.

Fun at the water park!

On Tuesday, Pa-Pa went for a chemo treatment.

Jill and Jackson picked us up to go to the Sheridan Waterpark. We got there right when they opened at 10. Mary had a lot of fun splashing in the water, going down the slides, and playing in the beach sand. At about 1:30 it started raining, but that didn't bother Mary any, she just kept swimming. Right as we were leaving it started to thunder. As we were driving away we noticed that everyone had to get out of the water. I think we timed that just right! Mary made some new friends.
Mary really liked walking through the tree tunnel.

They were exhausted on the way home. Granny had to give Mary a bath twice to get all of the beach sand out of her hair.

Lots of Nature

On one of our many nature walks we found a tree in the front yard that was covered in butterflies. They were feeding on the sap on the tree.

These deer were in the pasture just behind the house! I was able to walk out to the fence line and watch them for about 5 minutes. They finally caught my sent, and I was able to get these great pictures of them. I was never able to get a picture of the 3rd deer until they started running off towards the wood line. Unfortunately, Mary was sleeping and didn't get to see them. Although, while we were on our visit she got to see 5 doe and a spike.
