This past weekend we went to Bellville. William ran in the Rodeo Run 10K. He left early Saturday morning. I took Gus for his annual vet visit at 8:00. As soon as I got back home we loaded up, to hopefully see William fiinish his race. Having no idea where to go, other than the race ended near Minute Maid park downtown Houston, we made our way in that direction. As we got to downtown a little after 10, we found traffic and streets closed. As we got close to Minute Maid, we just picked a parking lot and paid our money. We saw 2 groups of runners, well one looked more like runners and the other looked more like joggers/walkers. So we followed the course of runners, knowing they would lead us to the finish line! Luckily, we were only about 2blocks from the finish. Once we got to the line we saw the clock said: 48 minutes. I knew William's goal was 50 minutes, but had no idea how far back he was when the race started. So we stood near the finish line and watched for him. Very shortly he came running by and we CHEERED him on to the finish line. I cannot believe the luck we had that day...13,000 runners and plenty of people there to watch. Afterwards we enjoyed some family fun and games. Then we began walking the streets of downtown to find a place to eat. We came across a place you would probably see on diners, drive-ins, and dives...and this was a DIVE! They had the BEST burgers! Here are a few pics from our weekend. :)
