Relay for Life

I was excited to raise $1000 this year to help find a cure for cancer. Thank you to everyone who made this possible. Amy and Mary both got Pa-Pa a luminaria.
This is our team picture, everyone attended some time during the evening.

Paige, Tracy, Donna, and myself stayed all night! We walked 15 miles. It's been a long time since I've stayed up all night, and I wasn't sure I could do it. We kept each other going and even decided to start jogging at about 5am! (what were we thinking?!)
This luminaria was purchased by 3 teachers in memory of Ashley, a 3rd grade teacher on our campus that lost her battle with cancer in November. She left behind a 1st and 5th grader at our school.
I am looking forward to another successful fundraiser next year!

Relay for Life

This weekend is our Relay for Life walk. I met and exceeded my goal this year. I raised $1000!!!!! Thank you so much to everyone who supported me and our team. I plan on walking the entire night, 7pm to 7am. It's been a LONG time since I've pulled an "all nighter" but I have faith that I can do it for all of those who are still fighting their battle...that's what it's all about! My mom and Paige will be making the drive to join me. If you are in the McKinney area on Friday night, we'd love for you to come by our campsite, visit and walk with us. We'll be at campsite #155, in left field near the entertainment stage.
Thanks again!!!!

Poor, sick Mary

Yesterday afternoon Mary woke up from her nap, but didn't want to get out bed, which is not out of the ordinary. I finally got her out to go to the bathroom. Then I gave her a hug and she was quite warm, so I took her temperature. It was almost 102! So I gave her some motrin, put her back in bed. She watched a movie and read books. At supper she ate just a few bites of bread and a pickle. Afterwards, she rode her tricycle and was feeling good. Then at 2am she was screaming/crying. She had gone to the bathroom, but unable to get her pants back on. While helping her I felt that she was burning up. I took her temperature...103.3 under the arm!! We gave her more motrin and put her in a cool bath. At 2:30 her temp was down to 102.2. Everyone went back to bed. At 7am she woke up and we took her temp again, 102.9. William stayed home and took her to the doctor. Strep and flu tests came back negative. Probably just a virus that needs to run it's course. This aftenoon the temp was 101 after meds had worn off. She has been watching TV, resting, and readng books.

Daddy's Birthday Weekend!

William had fun on his birthday weekend. He took Mary swimming Friday evening. Then on Saturday we just hung out around the house until it was time to eat! William wanted to go to Grimaldi's Pizzeria in Allen. Then we did a little shopping before heading home to enjoy an ice cream cake that Mary had picked out for him. It was delicious!

Amy can be quite the giggle box!
